Cheng Wei Yi (b.2001) is a digital artist who is driven to understand the basics of what makes us human. Born and raised in Malaysia and then to Singapore, the uprooting of her childhood shaped her worldview of her identity and her sensitivity to spaces- both past and present. With the rise of technology, she embraced the medium as her way of coping with the changes in her life through realistically rendered spaces and objects of her past. Her artworks have been shown in several exhibitions in Singapore, including the Creative Brain Week 2024 (Creative and Associate Programme) @ Naughton Institute Science Gallery at Trinity College Dublin and the LASALLE Show 2023.
